In the 1930s, Danish researchers observed that newborn chickens, fed a fat-free diet, developed complications of bleeding.

They finally solved the problem with an alfalfa-based compound that they named vitamin K, by Koagulation.

Vitamin K is the generic term for a group of fat-soluble compounds that contain vitamins K1 and K2.

Vitamin K1, also known as phylloquinone, is obtained in the diet of green leaves, broccoli, Brussels sprouts and vegetable oils such as rapeseed and olive oil, and constitutes 90% of our consumption of K.

Vitamin K2 (a family of menaquinones), is produced in smaller amounts by bacteria in the digestive tract.

The evidence in the studies points to the importance of a regular intake of vitamin K1 and K2 in order to achieve an optimal calcium regulation.

Research has confirmed its use in the activation of K-dependent proteins (VDK) that are necessary for blood coagulation and other important processes such as bone metabolism, vascular health, regulation of cell growth and apoptosis.

Many experts now believe that sub-clinical vitamin K deficiency, that is, a deficiency not so great that it may hinder the ability of blood to clot, could contribute to osteoporosis, and other age-related diseases.

We should point out that vitamin K supplementation in people under anticoagulant treatment is contraindicated, and supplementation in addition to that found in multinutrient formulas should be supervised by the health professional.

The Vitamin K Complex of LAMBERTS combines 45 μg of K2 and 30 μg of K1 in its natural form, to give you a total of 75 μg per tablet, to provide 100% of the nutritional reference value (NRV).

Vitamin K contributes to normal bone maintenance and contributes to normal blood clotting, and research indicates that it is important to have regular intake of vitamins K1 and K2.

Vitamin K2 in the Vitamin K complex of LAMBERTS is in the form of MK7 (also known as menaquinone or vitamin K2-7).

Our supplier uses an innovative GMP manufacturing standard based on more than 100 years of experience to produce vitamin K2.

It took four years to develop a totally unique and patented method of extracting vitamin K2-7 to achieve the highest concentrations while avoiding the adulteration of the product.
